Copy Assembly

Performs a deep copy of an assembly and all of its references (parts and subassemblies) to new folders, updating internal references.

What it is for

Notes and limitations

  • Different from Copy Assembly on the Drawing tab (which is Copy Design v1); this version runs from an open assembly.
  • Drawings (.idw/.dwg) are not copied automatically; use Copy Design v2 if you need drawings included.
  • Very large assemblies can take time; do not interrupt the process.
