Copy Design v2
Copies a complete design (assembly, parts, and references) from an active drawing context, using the modern C# implementation.
What it is for
Duplicates a design project linked to an open drawing, copying the assembly tree and referenced files to new locations with updated references.

Prerequisites
- Open drawing document with a valid reference to the assembly/part
- Write permissions on destination folders
- Valid license
Step by step
- Open the drawing (
.idw/.dwg) of the design to copy. - Go to MicroCAD → Drawing Tools → Copy Design v2.
- The dialog loads the assembly associated with the active drawing.
- Define destination paths for assemblies, subassemblies, and parts.
- Review the component grid.
- Confirm to run the deep copy.

Result
- Complete copy of the design in the destination folders
- Updated references in the copied assembly
Notes and limitations
- The button tooltip may say "v1" from legacy code; this is the C# version (v2).
- Requires a drawing with a valid model reference; if the link is broken, the tool cannot load the assembly.
- To copy from an open assembly (no drawing), use Copy Assembly.
- For the legacy folder-based version, use Copy Design.
