Create Bolt
Creates a modeled bolt or screw interactively in the active part, defining position and geometric parameters.
What it is for
Generates fastener geometry (bolt) directly in a part document, with configurable diameters, heights, chamfers, and fillets.
Where to find it
| Environment | Panel | Button |
|---|---|---|
| Part | Part Tools | Create Bolt |
Screenshot pending: Create Bolt dialog and point selection on the part.
Prerequisites
- Open part document with an active view
- Valid license
Step by step
- Open or create a part (
.ipt). - Go to MicroCAD → Part Tools → Create Bolt.
- Click in the graphics window to set the bolt position (X, Y, Z).
- Adjust dialog parameters: diameters, heights, lengths, angle, chamfer, and fillet.
- Optionally assign a name to the bolt.
- Confirm to create the geometry in the part.
Dialog options
| Field | Description |
|---|---|
| Bolt name | Identifying name for the bolt |
| X / Y / Z | Position coordinates (click in graphics or type them) |
| Diameter1 / Diameter2 | Bolt body diameters |
| Height1 | Head or upper-section height |
| Length1 / Length2 | Shank and section lengths |
| Angle1 | Geometry angle |
| Chamfer | Chamfer value |
| Fillet | Fillet value |
Result
- New bolt solid/features in the active part
- Bolt ID stored in a custom property set on the document
Notes and limitations
- Requires an active view in the part to pick the insertion point.
- Default values can be adjusted before confirming.
- It does not create an external library file; the geometry stays in the current part.
