  3. Run the MSI as administrator (right-click → Run as administrator).

File locations

After installation, add-in files are usually here:

C:\Program Files\Autodesk\Inventor [version]\Bin\Addins\InventorTools\

The .addin manifest is registered in one of these paths:

  • C:\ProgramData\Autodesk\Inventor [version]\Addins\
  • C:\ProgramData\Autodesk\Inventor Addins\ (version-independent)
  • %AppData%\Autodesk\Inventor [version]\Addins\ (per user)

Manual installation (advanced)

If you receive loose files instead of the MSI:

  1. Copy the main DLL and each module DLL to Inventor's add-ins folder.
  2. Place the .addin file in the corresponding Addins folder.
  3. Edit the .addin if the assembly path (Assembly) does not match the real location.
  4. Restart Inventor.

Post-install checks

Check Expected result

  1. Close Inventor.
  2. Uninstall from Control Panel → Programs or by running the MSI uninstaller.
  3. Optionally delete the .addin file from the Addins folder if it is still registered.
