Introduction
Inventor Tools (MicroCAD Inventor Tools) is an add-in for Autodesk Inventor 2025, 2026, and 2027 that adds the MicroCAD tab with productivity tools for parts, assemblies, and drawings.
Who this guide is for
This guide is for end users who install and use the add-in day to day: designers, design engineers, and documentation staff who work in Inventor.
You do not need programming knowledge. The only assumption is that you already use Inventor to model parts, assemblies, or drawings.
What Inventor Tools includes
The add-in groups 15 tools on the MicroCAD ribbon, organized by the type of document you have open:

General requirements
- Autodesk Inventor 2025, 2026, or 2027
- Windows 10/11 (64-bit)
- Administrator permissions to install and activate the license
- Internet connection for license validation (recommended)
Before you start
- Install the add-in with the MSI installer.
- Activate your license with the key provided by MCAD.
- Review the MicroCAD ribbon map to find each tool.
Note: All tools require a valid license except Activate License, which is used to register the key.
