Make Thread
Models threads on cylindrical faces of a part using Inventor standard thread data (thread.xls).
What it is for
Applies modeled threads (not only a cosmetic representation) on holes or cylindrical shafts, with configurable designation, size, class, and depth.

Prerequisites
- Open part document
- A cylindrical face and start edge available for selection
- Valid license
Step by step
- Open the part where you will apply the thread.
- Go to MicroCAD → Part Tools → Make Thread.
- Select the cylindrical face for the thread.
- Select the start edge of the thread.
- Choose Type, Designation, Size, and Class from the Inventor catalog.
- Set the depth or enable full depth for a complete thread.
- Confirm to create the thread feature.

Result

Notes and limitations
- The selection must be a valid cylindrical face; conical or irregular faces are not supported.
- Available values depend on Inventor's
thread.xlsfile. - If the base geometry changes, the thread may need to be updated or recreated.
